Also, not sure if it's intentional (maybe some kind of statement about Japanese currency), but I believe it's actually Yin and Yang, rather than Yen and Yang.
I wasn't picturing him riding it, just holding it in one hand while the other keeps the hang ten. I'm picturing the 80s style skateboards (not sure if they even make them any more), not the modern style boards.
I had the same thought about a skateboard, however I think the text is essential because most no one will get it without it. It's not super obvious that it's a radish behind those mysterious venetian blind sunglasses.
I think this is a really funny idea. I chuckled when I read the title then looked at the drawing. I think you should definitely include the text on the shirt to help sell the joke otherwise most people probably wouldn't get it.
As far as the drawing goes, I think adding a few detailed wrinkles on the radish and also somehow making the "tail" look less like a sperm tail would help.
As far as including more 80s cliches... Hmm. Maybe you could make the leaves look more like a Flock of Seagulls hairdo... But honestly methinks it'd be pretty well set with just the couple of adjustments I suggested above.

Your is isn't a conjunction.
Here's an example of the type I mean.
